Follow our guidelines below to ensure you get the maximum time out of your preservation.
- Display your art indoors and protected from the elements.
- Keep it out of direct sunlight or areas of bright light as this will cause colors to fade.
- Avoid keeping it in rooms with high humidity as moisture may cause flowers to "weep" or mold.
- Exposure to high heat, humidity, and bright lights will cause dried flowers to decay quicker.
Over time, flowers will naturally fade in color and become more fragile. We slow this process down by using silica gel to dry out the flowers prior to them wilting. They should last in their current preserved state for 1-3 years but should remain intact and beautiful for much longer.
It is common for excess silica gel to be knocked loose (especially in transit). If you purchased a shadow box, the backing can easily be removed and the box can be cleaned out. If you purchased a single display, it can easily be opened and cleaned out as well.
